Infrastructure roadmap

Roadmap: honest about today, clear about tomorrow.

Fresh Margin is a margin-control software layer today. The roadmap below shows where the product may expand after workflow economics are proven. Nothing beyond the current product is guaranteed or committed.

Current product: Records intake, margin model, operator console, exception queue, policy recommendations, source/confidence labels.
Near-term: Recurring monitoring, structured connectors, channel comparisons, partner playbooks, multi-location variance.
Future: Partner deployment, infrastructure rules, Fresh Margin Cells thesis. No facilities are claimed today. No committed dates.

Product phases

Current, near-term, and future.

Current product

Active
  • -Records intake from POS exports, marketplace reports, and manual files
  • -Margin model with basket economics and contribution estimates
  • -Operator console with exception queue and policy recommendations
  • -Source/confidence labels on every assumption
  • -Scoped deployment: one workflow, one location, one channel

Near-term

In progress
  • -Recurring monitoring with weekly exception review
  • -More structured connectors and import pipelines
  • -Better channel and workflow comparison views
  • -Partner and operator playbooks for common patterns
  • -Multi-location variance tracking

Future

Roadmap
  • -Partner deployment model for behind-brand reporting
  • -Infrastructure rules: software-defined local fulfillment logic
  • -Fresh Margin Cells thesis: software-defined local fulfillment nodes
  • -Hardware surface research after economics are validated

Fresh Margin Cells are a roadmap thesis, not a deployed product. No facilities are claimed today. No committed dates.

Hardware concepts

Hardware and sensor concepts.

Long-term hardware concepts are research candidates only. None are deployed. They are designed to make local fulfillment environments easier to run with visible economics.

Pick/Pack Station Display

Research

Station-level screen showing batch priority, aisle path, and exception flags.

Operator Tablet

Research

Mobile surface for substitution approvals, zone checks, and handoff confirmation.

Scanner Workflow

Design

Scan-to-confirm pick, pack, and dispatch stages with margin-aware alerts.

Staging Display

Design

Order staging screen showing temperature band, route, and dispatch window.

Prepared-Food Production Cue

Candidate

Kitchen display tied to demand forecast, production lots, and margin guardrails.

Cold-Chain Handling Prompt

Candidate

Prompts for pack type, route duration, and temperature compliance.

Fresh Margin does not currently claim deployed hardware, owned facilities, or live fulfillment centers. Hardware concepts are roadmap candidates for future software-defined local fulfillment infrastructure after workflow economics are validated.

Why the roadmap matters to product work today.

Every deployment Fresh Margin builds today shapes the data model, workflow assumptions, and decision framework that future hardware and automation will use. The basket economics model, leakage taxonomy, and substitution ladder are the foundation of everything on this roadmap.

Operators who participate in early deployments help define the standards that hardware pilots and automation layers will adopt. Operator data is shared only with explicit consent and is never used to train general models.

System LogConsole simulation
09:12Intake scope received - pickup, delivery, prepared food
09:18Delivery policy mapped - 3 zones, peak window flagged
09:27Marketplace fee burden classified - promo compression detected
09:34Substitution exposure pending item-level data
09:41Owner queue generated - 4 decisions queued
09:52Operator readout ready - assumption labels applied

Roadmap credibility

  • Fresh Margin Cells are described only as a roadmap thesis.
  • No facilities are claimed to exist today.
  • No physical facilities or hardware deployments are claimed to exist today.
  • No committed dates for future phases.
  • Hardware concepts are research-stage, not product commitments.
  • Future infrastructure depends on proven margin economics first.
